Basic Information about the Drive SystemBICO technology: interconnecting signalsConnectors, CI: Connector Input, CO: Connector OutputA connector is a digital signal, e.g. in the 32-bit format. It can be used to emulatewords (16 bit), double words (32 bit) or analog signals. Connectors are subdividedinto connector inputs (signal sink) and connector outputs (signal source). The options for interconnecting connectors are restricted to ensure that performanceis not adversely affected.Table 5-4ConnectorsAbbreviationand symbolCICONameConnector inputConnector input(signal sink)Connector outputConnector output(signal source)DescriptionCan be interconnected to a connectoroutput as source. The number of the connector output mustbe entered as a parameter value. Can be used as a source for a connectorinput.Interconnecting signals using BICO technologyTo interconnect two signals, a BICO input parameter (signal sink) must beassigned to the required BICO output parameter (signal source). The following information is required for connecting a binector/connector input to abinector/connector output:Binectors: Parameter number, bit number, and drive object IDConnectors with no index: Parameter number and drive object IDConnectors with index: Parameter number, index, and drive object IDBO: Binector outputCO: Connector OutputSignal sourceBOr0722.0BI: Binector inputCI: Connector inputSignal sinkBIpxxxx.y722.0CO (without index)r0036CIpxxxx.y36CO (with index)Index [0] r0037[1] r0037[2] r0037[3] r0037CIpxxxx.y37[2]bico_1.vsdFig. 5-5Interconnecting signals using BICO technology5-320© Siemens AG 2006 All Rights ReservedSINAMICS S120 Function Manual, 03/2006 Edition
