Installing the software2.3 Configure the Shader Development StudioThe Shader Development Studio has many configuration options that are available from theEclipse Preferences dialog box. See Chapter 4 Configuring the Shader Development Studio formore information.To view the Preferences dialog box:1. Select Window → Preferences.The Preferences dialog box is displayed. The dialog box contains an entry for configuringthe Shader Development Studio. See Figure 2-5:Figure 2-5 Eclipse Preferences dialog box2. To configure the Shader Development Studio so that you can begin using it:• set the location of the Offline Shader Compiler• select a renderer to be used by the Shader Development Studio.These configuration options are provided from the Preferences dialog box. See thefollowing sections for more information.2.3.1 Set the location of the Offline Shader CompilerThe Offline Shader Compiler enables the Shader Development Studio to check the syntax ofshaders before they are sent for rendering. This works by compiling each shader in thebackground and gathering data on any warnings or errors that are generated.NoteIf you do not have the Offline Shader Compiler installed on your computer, there is no offlinecompiler to configure, so you can skip this section. Be aware that because you do not have anOffline Shader Compiler installed, no syntax checking of the shaders is performed and nogathering of performance statistics is performed.DUI0504C Copyright © 2009-2011 ARM.
