A range of joint honourspsychology undergraduate degree schemes with an emphasis on appliedpsychology have proved very popular, and a single honours psychology degree isalso now available. The department is expanding with ongoing staff recruitmentacross all areas of psychology. In 2008 the department was awarded two fullyfundedPhD studentships; one from Aberystwyth University and the other, aimed atdeveloping Welsh-medium psychology expertise, funded by the Higher EducationFunding Council for Wales and the Welsh Assembly Government. A further fullyfundedPhD studentship was awarded by the University to the department in 2009.ResearchAll members of the department are research active with a broad crosssection of interests in theoretical and applied fields using a range ofresearch methods.
