To achieve full commercial value from itsexploitation IPR needs to be protected and managed. The University’s Commercialisation and ConsultancyServices works in the best interests of students, researchers, staff and the University to maximise thepotential of IPR generated within its academic community.Our University’s policy on IPR states that ownership of IPR created by students in the course of theirresearch at the University is vested with the University. Such students will benefit from the samerevenue sharing arrangement arising from commercial exploitation of IPR as that appertaining tomembers of staff.Terms & ConditionsAll students will be required as a condition of enrolment to abide by, and to submit tothe procedures of, the University’s Rules, Regulations and Information for Students.These are amended annually and circulated to all students. A copy of the currentRules, Regulations and Information for Students is available, on request, from the<strong>Postgraduate</strong> Admissions Office (01970 622089).The University will use all reasonable endeavours to deliver courses in accordancewith the descriptions set out in this <strong>Prospectus</strong>. However, the University does notprovide education to UK students on a commercial basis. It is also very largelydependent upon charitable and public funds which the University has to managein a way which is efficient and cost-effective, in the context of the provision of adiverse range of courses to a large number of students. The University thereforereserves the right to make variations to the contents or methods of delivery ofcourses, to discontinue courses and to merge or combine courses, if such actionis reasonably considered to be necessary by the University in the context ofits wider purposes. If the University discontinues any course, it will use itsreasonable endeavours to provide a suitable alternative course.The University cannot accept responsibility, and expressly excludes liability,for damage to students’ property, transfer of computer viruses to students’equipment, liability for breach of contract including cancellation ofcourses, lectures, laboratory, sessions, workshops, field trips and similaractivities.Any student who has outstanding fees shall not be awarded anydegrees, diploma, certificate or qualification from the Universityuntil the debt is cleared. Such students shall be prevented fromre-enrolling at the Institution and from using any of the University’sfacilities.
