As soon as one module in a libraryhas enough activity to benefit from Unicenter CA-QuickFetch,Unicenter CA-QuickFetch begins managing the library. You canspecify particular libraries that Unicenter CA-QuickFetch may ormay not process, but this is optional.Protecting and Excluding MembersUnicenter CA-QuickFetch allows you to protect modules in thevirtual storage area. It also allows you to exclude members ofmanaged libraries from Unicenter CA-QuickFetch management.When you protect a module, Unicenter CA-QuickFetch will notdelete the module from the virtual storage area to make roomfor a module with heavier fetch activity. This is helpful if anapplication requires a large module but the module is notrequested often enough to remain loaded in the virtual storagearea. Loading the module repeatedly from DASD requiresconsiderable I/O. However, if the module remains loaded in thevirtual storage area, Unicenter CA-QuickFetch can load themodule more quickly when it is requested.You also can exclude members of a library that UnicenterCA-QuickFetch manages.
