A championship shall be discontinuedautomatically at the conclusion of the academic year in which it falls below the applicable minimum sponsorshipnumber set forth in Bylaw 18.2.3 or 18.2.4. A National Collegiate Championship or a division championshipin any Olympic sport shall be exempt from the minimum sponsorship-percentage requirements of Bylaws18.2.3 and 18.2.4. To be eligible for NCAA championships, a student-athlete shall meetall applicable individual-eligibility requirements set forth in NCAA legislation. The general and academic eligibilityrequirements are set forth in detail in Bylaw 14.18.4.1.1 Institution’s Responsibility. The responsibility of an institution to withhold from all intercollegiatecompetition a student-athlete who is ineligible under any NCAA legislation is set forth in Bylaw 14.10.1.18.4.1.2 Committee on Student-Athlete Reinstatement Authority. The Committee on Student-AthleteReinstatement shall have initial authority to determine all matters pertaining to the eligibility of studentathletescompeting in the various NCAA championships and to act upon all appeals concerning the eligibility ofstudent-athletes submitted by member institutions (see Bylaw 14.11).18.4.1.3 Protest of Eligibility Status. If a student-athlete has been certified by the institution as eligibleto compete in an NCAA championship and the student-athlete’s eligibility is protested, the Committee onStudent-Athlete Reinstatement shall not rule on such a protest received during the period beginning 24 hours303
