Care and StorageTransport and StorageCleaningWhen transporting orshipping the equipmentalways use the original Leica Geosystemspackaging (transport case andshipping cardboard).Never carry the instrument loose in aroad vehicle. It can be affected byshock and vibration. Always carry itin its in its transport case or bag andsecure it.When transporting the instrument byby rail, aircraft or ship use the LeicaGeosystems original packaging(transport case or shippingcardboard) or another suitablepackaging securing the instrumentagainst shock and vibrations.Always remove the batterybefore transporting theinstrument. Pack the battery so thatno short-circuiting can occur.When storing theequipment, particularly insummer and inside a vehicle, takethe storage temperature limits (-40°C to + 70°C / -40°F to +158°F)into account.If the instrument becomeswet, leave it unpacked.Wipe down, clean, and dry theinstrument (at not more than 40 °C/108°F), transport case, foam inserts,and accessories. Pack up the equipmentonly when it is perfectly dry.• Blow away any dust beforecleaning.• Use only a clean, soft and lint-freecloth for cleaning. If necessary,moisten the cloth with purealcohol.Use no other liquids; these mayattack polymercomponents.Cables and plugsKeep plugs clean and dry.Blow out any dirt lodged in the plugsof the connecting cables.If you unplug connecting cablesduring the measurement, you maylose data.Always switch off the instrumentbefore removing the connectingcables.Care and Storage30RCS1100-1.2.0en
Battery chargingWARNING:Use a battery charger in adry room only, neveroutdoors. Charge batteries only at anambient temperature between +10°Cand +30°C ( 50°F to 86°F ).
