When installing the pistonand connecting rod assembly, the mark (1) on the top of the piston and the tab (2) on the side of the connecting rodshould face the front of the engine.15524976. Install the piston, pin, and connecting rod assembly into the cylinder bore. Hold the piston ring compressor firmlyagainst the engine block. Using a wooden hammer handle, lightly tap the top of the piston until all piston rings haveentered the cylinder bore.8. Use the J 41556 to guide the connecting rod onto the crankshaft journal.9.
