Review of Relevant StandardsRN04 chose to review the Barents Sea specificEER system requirements based on ISO19906 andstandards such as ISO15544, Norsok Z-013 andNorsok S-001.None of the listed standards address all of theEER risks that are relevant for the Barents Sea.It is recommended that the process for developingperformance standards in Section 2.1 should beused as a guide. A summary of each of the standardsreviewed is provided in Table 5 below, together withthe limitations of each standard. Only ISO19906 iswritten specifically to cover Arctic operations. Theother standards are however valuable referenceswhere relevant. The RN04 report is intended to be handed overto ISO for consideration when updating the standardor to be included as an addendum to ISO19906. Thereport does not have official international status butit is hoped that national regulators will refer to thedocument as a complement to existing standards andguidelines.136RUSSIAN–NORWEGIAN COOPERATION PROJECT
