RN06: ICE MANAGEMENT – STATE OF THE ART REPORT // Hazard Identification (HAZID) WorkshopBy present, the following key learnings have beenmade:• Design of Ice Management system alongwith design the FPU and associated logisticsmeans allows optimization to be made.• Ice Management can also be tailored toexisting structures and specific needs.• Ice Management involves multiple interfacesand is a truly multi-disciplinary subject.• There is no single source of competence thatcould cover all aspects of Ice Management.Ice Management can include complex elements, butthe outcome is required to be simple and clear.3. Hazard Identification(HAZID) Workshop3.1. Methodology and approachHAZID (Hazard Identification ) is a method tosystematically collect experience for a system oroperation. Barents 2020, Working Group RN06for ice management conducted a HAZID workshopwith the objective to identify all possible hazardsrelated to ice management operations. The workshopincluded persons with experience from general icebreaking experience and ice management experiencefrom different areas. The main focus areas includedin the Hazard Identification workshop was:• Detection• Tracking• Threat evaluation• Physical Ice ManagementAfter identifying the main hazards, a qualitativeranking of the identified hazards was carried out.The work, conclusions and recommendationsresulting from the workshop is a result of consensusof the team participants, who are listed Table 3.1.The work is based upon the cumulative experienceand expertise of the workshop participants.The discussions were based on generalimpressions and generic challenges related to icemanagement operations.NameVladimir LegostaevAlexzander ZiminOleg A.
