Those accidents were caused by technical issues.Though such consequences might be caused by other causes also technical or non-technical like terrorism,human factor etc. Therefore there is a need of a specific standard setting up a set of requirements in regard tosecurity of offshore facilities operating in Arctic seasThese standards specify general requirements for:• Identification of risks• Organizational measures for risks reduction• Technical measures for risk reductionPURPOSE AND JUSTIFICATIONPurpose:To specify requirements for risk identification and reduction at offshore structures, installations andequipment operating in Arctic seasJustification:Recent accidents at offshore oil rigs caused extremely bad consequences and nature destruction.
