Local BenevolentFund Committees depend on members to bring to their notice the circumstances ofcolleagues, in service or retired, or of their dependants, who, because of illness, disability, inadequate pensions or any other misfortune, are suffering financial hardship. For theeffective performance of its important work, the national committee has always had todepend largely on the valuable assistance given by local Benevolent Fund Committees andlocal correspondents. For more information on the EIS Benevolent fund and its contacts, visitwww.eis.org.uk/Member_Services/Benevolent_fund.htm7September 2012
