TheETR-4000 provides phase andground percentage restraineddifferential protection usinga variable dual slopecharacteristic with phase,negative, residual and neutralovercurrent elements forbackup protection. It can alsobe used to provide restraineddifferential protection to largemotors and generators.The ETR-4000 has eightcurrent inputs rated for either5 amperes or 1 ampere tomonitor both sides of thetransformers. The CTs canbe connected in wye in bothsides of the transformer;the relay automaticallycompensates for theconnection of the transformerand CT mismatch errors.The maintenance modepassword protected soft key,can be used for arc flashmitigation to change to analternate settings group,set to have instantaneouselements only.An integral keypad anddisplay is provided for directuser programming andretrieval of data withoutthe need of a computer.14 programmable LEDsprovide quick indication ofrelay status.A front port is provided fordirect computer connection.An RS-485 communicationport on the back is standardfor local area networkingusing Modbus-RTU. Anoptional Ethernet port andprotocols are available.Flash memory is used for theprogramming and all settingsare stored in nonvolatilememory.
