If thejeopardy resident is unavailable, a resident may call for a taxi and will reimbursed by theresidency office.BOARD CERTIFICATION:For board certification, graduates of the residency program must meet the eligibility criteriaspecified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). Per the ABFM, these include:1. Successful performance on the ABFM MC-FP Examination2. The Program Director verifies that the resident has successfully met all of theACGME program requirements3. The candidate obtains a currently valid, full, and unrestricted license to practicemedicine in the US or CanadaBeginning in 2012, residents will be required to participate in the Maintenance of Certificationfor Family Physicians (MC-FP) process before being eligible to sit for board examination. Perthe ABFM:The first group of residents that will be required to participate in this new process will be thoseentering family medicine residencies on or after June 1, 2012, including those residents whoreceive advanced placement credit for prior training in another specialty. <strong>Resident</strong>s must meetthese requirements before they will be able to sit for the examination:• Completion of fifty (50) MC-FP points prior to the MC-FP Examination, which mustinclude:o Minimum of one (1) Self-Assessment Module (Part II)o Minimum of one (1) Performance in Practice Module (Part IV) with data from apatient population(or an ABFM approved alternative Part IV activity with patient population data)Additional information on board certification may be found at www.theabfm.org .Page 82 of 153C:\Documents and Settings\dhutak\Desktop\rshb13.doc
