In 2011, the Fund's budgetwas €1,300,000 shared equally between film and television Ibn Khaldun – Senghor Award For French/Arabic Translation Houses of Knowledge of FrancophonieApplication procedureEach funding application must be submitted by completing a form available on the OIF website orfrom the OIF upon request. These forms are adapted to the characteristics of the program subject tothe call for tenders. Incomplete files will be automatically rejected. Appeals submitted to the OIF forfinancial aid for projects responding to public calls for tenders: one to several times per year,depending on the nature of the initiative to be funded.Each request is examined by a committee or a selection committee composed of experts from theSouth and North, OIF representatives, and, where applicable, representatives from OIF partnersinvolved in the project. If necessary, specific external consultations may be conducted according tothe nature and scope of the project.The role of the committee or board is to give a reasoned opinion on the quality and relevance of theproject, project management, and implementation of safeguards, based on specific criteria. Thecommittee or board decides independently and gives reasoned opinions to the Administrator of theOIF. The assessment of an application is based on the rigour and intellectual integrity of thoseinvolved in this process.17
