AMA offers travel funds to artists, art professionals andcultural operators living and working in Africa to travel within the African continent in order to engagein the exchange of information, the enhancement of skills, the development of informal networks andthe pursuit of cooperation.Eligible countriesGrants are provided only for African organizations to travel within and between the African regions:RegionCentral Africa:East Africa :SouthernAfrica:West Africa:North Africa:CountryAngola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, CongoBrazzaville, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon,Rwanda, Sao Tomé and PrincipéComoros, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius,Seychelles, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, UgandaAngola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa,Swaziland, Zambia, ZimbabweBenin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea,Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, SierraLeone, TogoAlgeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia.Who can receive a grant?Artists and cultural operators living and working in Africa within the following fields: performing andvisual arts, music, cinema, literature and cultural advocacy.Grants are given to establish partnerships and to participate in festivals, biennials, artist residencies,productions, touring, workshops and professional development meetings.Types of grant supportAMA supports mobility within the African continent by providing the costs of travel, visa and travelinsurance for the duration of stay.Application procedureTo apply for an AMA grant you must read the Guidelines and carefully fill out the application form andsend it before the deadline to the AMA office at applications@artmovesafrica.org.48
RestrictionsAMA does not support: Fees, accommodations, or per-diem Travel within the same African country or travels outside Africa. More than one trip per year per person Travel for big productions (rehearsals, etc.) Transport of art works (exhibitions, etc.) Touring of big companies (performances during a festival or a theatre season, touring ofshows). Only small scale performances (maximum three people) will be able to apply for travelsupport.
