There are two socketed DB-9 connectors for remote displays which are connected to the serial port J4. Theremote display’s DC power and communications are run in the same three-conductor cable. In the Tracer AV,these inputs are set to Zero and Units for the remote keypad. The inputs are active (on) with low voltage (0 VDC)and can be driven by TTL or 5V logic without additional hardware. Outputs are designed to sink not source, switching current. Each output is anormally open connector circuit, capable of sinking 250 mA when active. Digital outputs are wired to switchrelays when the digital output is active (low, 0 VDC) with reference to 5 VDC supply.
