TRANSPORTATION AND COMMUTINGAs concerns area municipalities and boroughs, <strong>the</strong> Ville-Marie Borough, which comprises downtown Montréal, is <strong>the</strong> maindestination <strong>of</strong> <strong>Greater</strong> Montréal commuters; in 2006, one commuter in five (19%), or 290,000 people in all, worked in thisborough. Next came <strong>the</strong> Saint-Laurent Borough, <strong>the</strong> daily destination <strong>of</strong> 103,000 commuters. In <strong>the</strong> Montréal agglomeration,<strong>the</strong> workplaces <strong>of</strong> more than 30,000 commuters were in six o<strong>the</strong>r boroughs in <strong>the</strong> centre <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> island and in <strong>the</strong> municipality<strong>of</strong> Dorval.
