Defra <strong>Redeployment</strong> Co-Ordinator (RC)The RC will normally be the Defra Employee Relations Manager from Core Defra ortheir delegated authority. They will:abcdefghijkhold regular meetings with the RO(s) <strong>and</strong> three-monthly reviewmeetings marking the start of meaningful consultationprovide advice <strong>and</strong> support to managers in respect of redeployment<strong>and</strong> redundancy to the core Defra business <strong>and</strong> ExecutiveAgenciesundertake consultation with DTUS/Agency TUs on matters relatingto redeployment <strong>and</strong> redundancyprovide senior management with relevant <strong>and</strong> timely informationconcerning progress in respect of the above actionschallenge vacancy/recruiting/hiring managers when they do notcomply with the procedures laid out in the policy <strong>and</strong> fail to followthe guiding principlesensure that Department for Business Innovation <strong>and</strong> Skills (DBIS),is provided with formal notification of anticipated redundancies inaccordance with current legislationinvestigate <strong>and</strong> negotiate possible suitable alternative employmentopportunities for RR employees including, where appropriate,discussions with the Defra network <strong>and</strong> other GovernmentDepartments <strong>and</strong> NDPBs with the support of the local ROsmaintain an overview of the accuracy of the <strong>Redeployment</strong>Registerrepresent Defra <strong>and</strong> its Executive Agencies <strong>and</strong> arrange regularmeetings with HRBPs <strong>and</strong> ROs to review the progress ofredeploymentlead the discussions with the Cabinet Office <strong>and</strong> the Treasury onredundancy <strong>and</strong> redeployment mattersprovide the Defra HR Director with regular updates on therestructuring situation <strong>and</strong> as much notice as possible of anycompulsory redundancy action that may be necessary <strong>and</strong> when<strong>and</strong> within what parameters, a redundancy unit should be declared.28 | P age
