<strong>Uranium</strong> <strong>ore</strong>-<strong>forming</strong> <strong>systems</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Lake Frome regionLocality 8 (340880E ; 6654650N) ‘Waterfall lookout’ — Radium Ridge BrecciasLess than 50 m down <strong>the</strong> disused portion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Ridgetop Track, <strong>the</strong> gradational contact betweenbasement schist–gneiss and granitic breccia is exposed. The valley in <strong>the</strong> f<strong>ore</strong>ground is underlainentirely by a minimum <strong>of</strong> 300m <strong>of</strong> granitic, chloritic and haematitic breccias (uraniferous). RadiumRidge, which rises ~200 m above <strong>the</strong> valley, is also composed entirely <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se breccias. Mt Gee isimmediate north and just beyond that is Radium Ridge, while Mt Painter is just to <strong>the</strong> east <strong>of</strong> thissite.Page 133 <strong>of</strong> 151
