The award „Blue flower“ thatRovinj won last year as the most developed andarranged town, speaks on behalf of that fact. Besides,there are renovated hotels, auto-camps and tourist settlements,which already got an additional star on theirfacade. The merits go to Maistra d.d., the company forcatering and tourism, which originates from the merge ofRovinj’s Jadran-turist and Vrsar’s Anita, with Adris groupas the major owner. In the last two years Maistra d.d. asCroatia’s biggest tourist company really roled up theirsleeves. They manage seven hotels, seven tourist resortsand six auto-camps. These facilities are able to receivesome 32 000 guests, so Rovinj doubles in size during thesummer season.Investment cycle was initiated two years ago with investmentsin tourist resorts Petalon in Vrsar and Amarinin Rovinj. Afterwards came the camps where a lot ofmoney was invested in. In 2005 the amount of moneywhich the company Maistra invested in various structureswas 280 million kunas. In 2006 the investmentincreased to the amount of 562 million kunas. Thecompany invested 95 million kunas in the tourist resortBelvedere and 50 million kunas in the park of natureKoversada, which are now turned into resorts with fourstars and are both located in Vrsar.Last year’s most important project was the 185 millionkunas worth investment in the hotel Istra in Rovinj,which gained the 4-stars category. The hotel Edenin Rovinj is at the moment the leading 4-star hotel ofMaistra d.d (last year’s winner of the “Tourist flower”35
