ChairAnthony Mackay – nominated by the Australian GovernmentBEc BEd MA FACE FACEL FIPAAVAnthony Mackay is CEO, Centre for Strategic Education (CSE)Melbourne, Chair, Australian Institute for Teaching and SchoolLeadership (AITSL), and Deputy Chair, Australian Curriculum,Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA).Mr Mackay is Co-Director of the Global Education Leaders Programadvisor to OECD/CERI. He is the Immediate Past President of the International Congressfor School Effectiveness and Improvement (ICSEI) and is a founding member of theGoverning Council of the National College for School Leadership in England.Melbourne, a Board Director of the Australian Council for Educational Research, the AsiaEducation Foundation, and the Foundation for Young Australians.His policy advice, consultancy and facilitation work focuses on education strategy forGovernment departments, bodies and agencies, think tanks and leadership teams inAustralia, Asia, Europe and North America.Bill Louden – nominated by the Australian GovernmentBA DipEd BEd MEd PhD FACEof Western Australia. He has worked as a secondary English teacher,in curriculum and policy roles in the Western Australia Department ofEducation, and as a university teacher, researcher and dean of educationand Pro Vice Chancellor. His research interests include literacy,standards and educational change, and his recent research has soughtto identify classroom teaching practices that most contribute to students’ intellectualgrowth. Professor Louden was a member of the National Inquiry into the Teaching ofLiteracy and chaired the WA Government’s Literacy and Numeracy Review Taskforce.He was Chair of the Curriculum Council of Western Australia from 2006 to 2011.Professor Louden was a member of the Australian Curriculum, Assessment andReporting Authority from its establishment in 2008 until May 2012. A Fellow of therespectively.
