On Life at Home

hand and caught and held him,
saying to him, O you of little faith,
why did you doubt?32 And when
they got into the boat, the wind
ceased.” (Matthew 14:31-32)
If each of us does the very best
that we can, remembering to
take time to refocus when we
need to, we can rely on Jesus to
do the rest. Even when it seems
that all is lost, he is right there to
take us by the hand, and pull us
to the safety of his loving arms.
He is our port in the storm, our
refuge, and our peace. If God
be for us, who can be against
us? (See Roman 8:31)
Granted, your home may not
resemble the so called “perfect”
home of Ozzie and Harriet or
Donna Reed, but it can resemble
the grace and love of God; as we
allow his light to shine through
us. We can create a loving, nurturing
home for our children to
grow up in; it can be a place of
peace, even in the midst of life’s
storms. Jesus promised us his
peace; we must simply accept
his free gift.
“Peace I leave with you; My
peace I give to you; not as the
world gives…” (John 14:27a)
