Copper Pice with device and legends similar to No. 1 and,as Atkins suggests, probably from the same die. The character ofthe letters on the obverse varies somewhat in different coins ofthis type, the legend being blundered in various ways, and reading,e.g.,ONET. ox HAY. XGI3G. GiM. A coin of the same typeisreferred to by both Thomas and Atkins, in which the legend readsMOET. BO<strong>MB</strong>AY. AXGLIC. REG. A9 (pi. Xviil, 3).7. A copper Cash of the year 1678, bearing on the obverse anorb and cross inscribed 78, and on the reverse some undecipherablenative characters, to the interpretation of which I have not beenable to find any clue.8. A Farthing of the year 1674, in the British <strong>Mus</strong>eum, bearingon the obverse CA.ROLVS A CAROLO, and on the reverse REX BRI-No. 2.TAXXIA, re-struck with the die for the silver rupee9. A lead coin in the British <strong>Mus</strong>eum of the year 1678 ?, mentionedby Thomas as having types and legendsrupees.as in the silver10.
