Critical Needs Teacher Loan/Scholarship (CNTP)Critical Needs Teacher Loan/Scholarship awards are made available to juniors and seniors seeking a first bachelor’sdegree at a Mississippi college or university in a program of study that will lead to a Class "A" educator's license.Recipients may fulfill the loan to service obligation by serving as a licensed classroom teacher in a Mississippi publicschool district located in a critical teacher or subject shortage area for one year for each year of loan received.Recipients are NOT eligible to receive other state grant funds. Recipients receive tuition and required fees, the averagecost of room and meals, plus a $500 book allowance for no more than four (4) semesters. To be eligible, students musthave a cumulative 2.5 GPA, pass the Praxis I, complete entrance counseling, and be enrolled full-time or part-time. Outof-statestudents are eligible.
