William Winter Alternate Route Teacher Loan/Scholarship (WWAR)William Winter Alternate Route Teacher Loan/Scholarship awards are available to juniors and seniors seeking a firstbachelor’s degree at a Mississippi college or university in a program of study leading to an alternate route educator'slicense. Participants may fulfill the loan-to-service obligation by working in a Mississippi public school for one year foreach year of loan received. To be eligible, students must be Mississippi residents with a 2.5 GPA. Students must attendfull-time and must have passed the Praxis 1. Participants receive up to $4,000 per year, not to exceed $8,000 for amaximum of two (2) years or four (4) semesters.
