『 還 有 這 個 美 麗 的 新 娘 錢 包 帶 有 非 常 小 的 珠 子 。 小 珠
粒 就 像 沙 粒 一 樣 小 。 一 粒 珠 子 2 毫 米 , 是 由 玻 璃 製 成 。
因 為 縫 線 針 太 粗 , 所 以 當 時 他 們 採 用 馬 的 鬃 毛 作 為 針
線 , 把 小 珠 子 串 起 來 的 。 今 天 沒 有 人 這 樣 做 了 , 我 們 甚
至 不 知 道 他 們 是 如 何 做 到 的 。』
“This beautiful bridal purse is made with very small beads.
The beads are as small as grains of sand. One bead is 2mm
and it is made from glass. Since the needle is too thick, they
use a horsehair as the needle. Today, no one does that and we
don’t even know how to make it.”

“This one is very special – it was from Ludvig XV. They painted
on the enamel the bride and groom. So on one side you see
Ludvig XV, and the other side his wife Maria.”

“This bag is from the 16th century. It is made with tortoiseshell
and pearl. The craftsmanship is so beautiful; nowadays
we don’t see much of that.”
“The bag” is one of the few possessions we hold dear to
our hearts. It carries our most personal belongings on
a daily basis. In the collections on exhibit, you can tell
from the shapes and sizes of the bags that the belongings
might have included our ancestors’ coins, keys, and treasured
Bible. Today, out of practicality, career women carry
phones, laptops, cosmetics, and an array of other items in
their beloved bags.
