6. Starting the Diesel Hammer<br />
6.4 Guiding for the pile helmet<br />
The pile helmet cannot be guided at the impact<br />
block of the Diesel Pile Hammer. Otherwise,<br />
lateral forces may cause damage to the impact<br />
block and the cylinder.<br />
• Do not wire rope the helmet to the padeyes<br />
of the outer end-ring. The outer end-ring<br />
padeyes are designed only for lifting of the<br />
end-ring itself during assembly and is not<br />
safe for lifting helmets.<br />
• Leave the wire rope long enough to ensure<br />
that the impact block can move out<br />
completely without tensioning the cable.<br />
