Gold und Silberlegierungen auf dem Prüfstand
Der Feingehalt des Edelmetalles kann mit Probiersäuren getestet
werden.
1. Den Gegenstand anfeilen, damit Goldauflage und legiertes Gold
unterschieden werden können.
2. Den Gegenstand an der Feilstelle am Probierstein reiben.
Es soll ein scharf begrenzter Abstrich entstehen.
3. Die Probiersäuren, mit der niedrigsten beginnend, nacheinander
an verschiedenen Stellen des Striches auftragen. Wird die
Legierung angegriffen, so beginnt die Säure zu schäumen.
Die Legierung liegt unter dem Feingold der Probiersäure.
4. Zur Kontrolle eine vergleichende Stichprobe
z.B. mit dem Goldprobierstern durchführen.
5. Silberlegierungen werden auf gleiche Weise geprüft.
6. Den Probierstein nach Gebrauch gründlich mit Wasser reinigen.
Danach Kontrasol mit einem Tuch kräftig auf dem Stein verreiben.

Gold und Silber beizen
Elektrisch beheizt (70°) und thermostatisch gesteuert werden
Beizmittel wie Neacid und verdünnte Salz- und Schwefelsäuren mit
dem Beizgerät Degussa. Weitere Tipps und Informationen zum

Schmuckreinigung
Schmuckstücke lassen sich einfach mit einem Dampfstrahlgerät
oder Ultraschallbad mit Reinigungskonzentrat reinigen. Ab Seite

Stärkere Verunreinigungen entfernt man im erwärmten (50 - 60° C)
Ultraschallbad mit Tickopur RW 77. So lassen sich Fette, Öle,
Schleif- und Polier- und Flussmittel entfernen. Seite 336.
Verfärbungen (Oxidation) entfernt man mit Tickopur J 80 U. Entfernt
Oxyd- und Sulfidschichten Flussmittel. Seite 336.
Gold and silver alloys put to test
The precious metal fineness can be tested using testing acids.
1. File the object so that you can distinguish between the gold plating and
the alloyed gold.
2. Rub the section of the object that you have filed against the testing
stone. A sharply bounded streak should be produced.
3. Starting with the lowest one, apply the testing acids successively to the
different areas of the streak. If the alloy is attacked, the acid starts
foaming. The alloy lies below the fine gold of the testing acid.
4. For checking purposes, carry out a comparative random test e.g. with
the gold test star.
5. Silver alloys are tested in the same way.
6. After use, thoroughly clean the testing stone using water.
Then, strongly spread Kontrasol on the stone using a cloth. You can find

Pickling gold and silver
Pickling chemicals like Neacid and diluted hydrochloric and sulphuric acids
are electrically heated (70°) and thermostatically controlled using the pickling
equipment Degussa. More tips and further information on the topic

Jewellery cleaning
Pieces of jewellery can be easily cleaned using a steam-jet apparatus or an
ultrasonic bath with cleaning concentrate. Starting on page 335 in the
catalouge. Dipping baths for the “quick” service can be found starting on
page 7.
Heavy soilings are removed in the heated (50 - 60°C) ultrasonic bath with
Tickopur RW 77. In this way, fats, oils, abrasive and polishing agents as
well as flux materials can be removed. Page 336.
Discolourations (oxidation) are removed using Tickopur J 80 U. Removes
oxide and sulphide layers flux material. Page 336.
