<strong>Deliver</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>Quality</strong>, <strong>High</strong> <strong>Performance</strong> <strong>HEVC</strong> <strong>via</strong> <strong>Intel®</strong> <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Server</strong> <strong>Studio</strong><br />

During portion of 2014 and all of 2015 <strong>HEVC</strong> Codec was improved significantly in quality and speed.<br />

- The <strong>HEVC</strong> codec implementation includes a multithreaded <strong>HEVC</strong> Encoder and <strong>HEVC</strong> Decoder<br />

capable of running typically up to 8 threads. The Encoder and Decoder are up to SSE4 and AVX2<br />

optimized for Intel Core, and Atom platforms.<br />

- The <strong>HEVC</strong> Software Decoder is capable of real time decode of <strong>HEVC</strong> 4K encoded streams on an<br />

<strong>Intel®</strong> Core Haswell CPU 2 - 3.5 GHz, 4 Cores.<br />

- The <strong>HEVC</strong> Software Encoder supports a range of coding modes with the slowest mode allowing<br />

quality visually identical to <strong>HEVC</strong> HM14 and the fastest mode allowing 30-40 frames/sec encoding<br />

of HD1080p on the aforementioned Haswell system.<br />

- The <strong>HEVC</strong> Software Decoder supports <strong>HEVC</strong> Main Profile 8 bits, Level 1.0 to 6.2.<br />

Additional flavors of <strong>HEVC</strong> codecs such as high bit-depth, higher chroma resolution formats and others and<br />

capabilities for controlling and optimum usage of these codecs, have allowed <strong>Intel®</strong> <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Server</strong> <strong>Studio</strong><br />

SDK to continue to improve its offerings to stay ahead of the pack.<br />
