2014 SURVEY IN SCOTLAND <strong>NATIONAL</strong> REPORT<br />

• 14% of young people in Scotland report having been bullied at school at least<br />

twice a month in the past two months<br />

• At age 15, rates of being bullied are lower than among 11- and 13-year olds<br />

• The proportion of young people that report being bullied increased between<br />

2010 and 2014, especially among girls<br />

• 24% of 13-year old girls report being bullied at least once via electronic media<br />

messages in the past couple of months<br />

• 18% of 13-year old girls report being bullied via electronic media pictures at least<br />

once over the past couple of months<br />

• 5% of girls and 15% of boys report that they have been involved in a physical fight<br />

three or more times in the previous year<br />

• Among boys, the prevalence of fighting decreases with age<br />

• Since 2002, boys have gradually become less likely to have been involved in three<br />

or more physical fights in the past year<br />
