national wide, NH (US)- and M<strong>in</strong>istry of Health, Welfare and labor (Japan) funded<br />

ongo<strong>in</strong>g research program evaluat<strong>in</strong>g the prognosis of children with type 1 diabetes (<strong>Diabetes</strong> epidemiology<br />

research International: DERI Mortality study) s<strong>in</strong>ce 1986.<br />
