Rochdale Inner Wheel Club – 4th Wednesday each Month<br />

Rochdale Inner Wheel Club is a women's group meeting on 4th Wednesday<br />

of each month at 7pm.<br />

They have regular speakers and also raise funds for local, national and<br />

international charities.<br />

Rochdale Unitarian Church present a Concert and Drum Displayby the Band<br />

and Corps of Drums of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (Lancashire) on<br />

Saturday 8th <strong>Oct</strong>ober <strong>2016</strong> at 7.30 pm. Admission £12, including<br />

refreshments. To be held at Rochdale Unitarian Church, Clover Street,<br />

Rochdale Antiques Society<br />

Rochdale Antique Society meets at St Vincent’s Community Centre,<br />

Caldershaw Road, Rochdale OL12 7QL at 7.30pm<br />

First class expert speakers at every meeting September <strong>2016</strong> to May 2017<br />

The date of the next meeting is:-<br />

12th <strong>Oct</strong>ober. The talk will be on ‘Christopher Dresser – a designer for the<br />

people’ - Harry Lyons. Harry Lyons had an antique shop in Kensington,<br />

London, and acquired a large collection of Dr Christopher Dresser’s work, a<br />

prolific designer of textiles, wallpaper, glass, ceramics, furniture, metalwork<br />

and silver.<br />

Rochdale Ladies Lifeboat Guild<br />

Rochdale Ladies Lifeboat Guild will be holding a coffee morning which will<br />

be held at the Town Hall, Rochdale on Wednesday 2nd November from<br />

10.30 am until 12 noon. The Mayor and Mayoress will be in attendance.<br />

Ripponden Community Christmas Market<br />

Saturday 3 December, 12 noon-6pm, at St Bartholomew’s Church. Food,<br />

crafts, gift stalls; live festive music; donkeys and reindeer. Something for<br />

Ellenroad Engine House<br />

Steaming days<br />

Steaming days are held the first Sunday of the Month from 11am – 4pm<br />

(except January for boiler inspection). Entrance £5 for adults. Free entrance<br />

for accompanied children.<br />

Non Steaming Days<br />

These are volunteer working days, for the restoration and maintenance of<br />

exhibits. You are more than welcome to visit on non-steaming days when<br />

the Engine House is manned. For non steaming days admission is free but<br />

donations are welcome.<br />

Harry Lyons wrote a well-respected book about his collection and gave a<br />

large proportion of the collection to Middlesborough Museum for display in<br />

a specially-created gallery.<br />

12am – 3pm – Saturdays (day before steaming)<br />
