labor required for farming. 87 According <strong>to</strong> his family, in 2015 he turned <strong>to</strong> dealing shabu <strong>to</strong> try<br />

and make enough money <strong>to</strong> feed his six children, and for the medical treatment for both his<br />

own illness and a son’s hepatitis. When the killings of drug dealers began, his family begged<br />

him <strong>to</strong> s<strong>to</strong>p dealing, but Dela Cruz <strong>to</strong>ld them he had no other way <strong>to</strong> support his family. 88<br />
