Glidden Park occupies 30 acres at Branch and Lebanon Streets. A new in-line hockey rink, two lighted and<br />
three daytime tennis courts, a soccer field, and a basketball court provide sports fun. A walking track,<br />
playground equipment and a picnic pavilion complete the scene.<br />

Highlights in the park include a first class golf course, a rose garden, an oriental garden, a native prairie<br />
grassland area, a 13 acre lake for fishing, a tennis center, a freedom shrine and a monument to all the<br />
volunteers that helped create the park. In addition there are soccer, s<strong>of</strong>tball and baseball fields, picnic shelters<br />
and playgrounds.<br />

Better known as “Longacre Park,” this park has 90 acres, 1 ½ miles <strong>of</strong> walking trails, 16,00-square foot<br />

s<strong>of</strong>tball diamond, and 4 pavilions.<br />

American Discovery Trail<br />

Part <strong>of</strong> a 6,800 mile, 15-state trail that runs coast-to-coast through America. Known as the Metro-East Levee<br />
Trail, this portion <strong>of</strong> the ADT follows a combination <strong>of</strong> back roads and maintenance roads on the top <strong>of</strong> the<br />
levees along the Mississippi River and runs into Missouri over the Eads Bridge.<br />
