Every Finavia staff member is
expected to work responsibly
and encourage responsible
operating practices.
Finavia’s task is to strengthen Finland’s competitiveness and
internationalisation and make Finland more mobile. This
means that corporate responsibility must be considered in
all our operations.
In its responsibility work, Finavia is guided by its values, operating
principles, policies and guidelines, which must be observed by
all Finavia staff members and persons working in the company
administration.
The decisions ensuring the responsibility of Finavia’s operations
are made by the CEO and the Executive Group. Finavia’s
Board actively monitors the management of corporate responsibility
issues and regularly discusses matters pertaining to the
company’s financial standing, efficiency, safety, environmental
matters and social responsibility. Efficiency, social responsibility
(manager index) and safety are among the indicators included in
the Group’s scorecard.
In practice, every Finavia employee must participate in responsible
operations and promote them. The Communications Unit
coordinates corporate responsibility reporting.
The Environmental Unit and the director responsible for sustainable
development coordinate environmental responsibility in
cooperation with business areas and airports, which function as
profit centres in the business areas. The Financial Unit and CFO
implement economic responsibility at a practical level.
Responsibility for taking social responsibility into account and
promoting it is vested in several parties at Finavia. For example,
the Group’s HR matters are looked after by the HR Unit and the HR
Director. Promoting safety is very much the responsibility of every
Finavia employee. The Group’s Risk Management Unit coordinates
the management and development of flight safety.
We are committed to good governance
Finavia is engaged in an active dialogue with its stakeholders. The
work is coordinated by our Communications Unit and the feedback
we receive is an important consideration in our responsibility
work. Our aim is to ensure that our operations are predictable and
transparent and we communicate on our operations in an open
manner.
Finavia is committed to good governance in all its operations.
Efficient internal control and risk management promote Finavia’s
performance and constitute an essential part of the good corporate
governance observed by the Group. Finavia ensures the
transparency of its corporate governance by observing the Finnish
Corporate Governance Code for listed companies, to the extent
that this is appropriate for a company wholly owned by the Finnish
state.
