Request for Advisory Opinion for Scope of Practice for Advanced Practice Registered<br />
<strong>Nurses</strong> in the Performance of X-Ray Procedures and Operating Mobile X-Ray Equipment<br />
• Approved the advisory opinion that the performance of limited x-ray procedures and<br />
operating mobile x-ray equipment is within the scope of advanced practice registered<br />
nursing practice for the APRN who is educationally prepared and clinically competent in<br />
the performance of x-ray procedures and operation of mobile x-ray equipment; and<br />
• Reaffirmed the previously issued advisory opinion that the performance of<br />
limited x-ray procedures and operating mobile x-ray equipment is not within the<br />
scope of registered nursing practice or within the scope of licensed practical<br />
nursing practice.<br />
Customer Service Satisfaction Survey Proposal<br />
• Approved the draft of the customer service satisfaction survey questions as amended<br />
and for staff to proceed with its implementation.<br />
Review Delegation of Authority Letter<br />
• Approved the Delegation of Authority letter as presented.<br />
Proposed Revisions to Kentucky Board of Nursing Strategic Plan<br />
• Approved that the Board appoint a sub-committee of the Governance Committee to<br />
develop metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the Strategic Plan.<br />
• Accepted the revisions to the Kentucky Board of Nursing Strategic Plan.<br />
Review Proposed Legislation for <strong>2017</strong><br />
• Approved the proposed legislation for <strong>2017</strong> concerning KRS 314.091 with the removal<br />
of proposed subsection (P) and that the staff is directed to proceed with its inclusion in<br />
the housekeeping bill.<br />
Request for Letter of Support from Jefferson Community and Technical College<br />
• Directed that an operational guideline be developed that any request for a letter of<br />
support for a grant or similar activity from any Program of Nursing be declined as an<br />
entity that is regulated by the Board, pursuant to the Executive Branch Ethics Law.<br />
