Plan<br />
It has been developed as part of EU- <strong>Egypt</strong> Action Plan,<br />
based on <strong>Egypt</strong>’s <strong>National</strong> Development Plan (2002-<br />
2007), to promote south-south trade, through<br />
encouraging FDI participation in regional projects such<br />
as: infrastructure, trade facilitation, energy and<br />
transport. This also include Promoting cooperation in<br />
the transport field, in particular on developing<br />
infrastructure policies, implementing the sector reform<br />
programme aiming at separating regulatory,<br />
management and operation tasks; fostering the<br />
involvement of the private sector in transport projects<br />
and services; applying air, maritime, and road safety<br />
measures, and developing a Civil Global Navigation<br />
Satellite System<br />
<strong>Egypt</strong>’s Transport Master Plan is under development to<br />
reach 2050. The <strong>Egypt</strong>ian government has developed a<br />
transportation master plan that includes: Railways’<br />
development, maintain and upgrade trains and their<br />
facilities and services (stations, signal systems, tracks,<br />
bridges, and tunnels, etc.). Also, the Metro completion of<br />
the three remaining phases of the third line with total<br />
estimated cost of EGP 35 billion.<br />

(MFT) strategy<br />
This is considered a-world class multimodal transport<br />
infrastructure and services. For the MFT strategic<br />
importance, a dedicated corridor for MFT was set in<br />
<strong>Egypt</strong>’s Transport Master Plan 2012-2027 (MINTS).<br />
