3.17 CONNECTING POWER - COLD START<br />

COMMISSIONING<br />

Before commissioning the probe or transmitter, read the two Caution paragraphs at the front of this manual.<br />

Check that the mains supply voltage link is in the correct place for the supply voltage. To locate this link refer to<br />

Section 3.3<br />

It is recommended that, prior to commissioning, a ‘COLD START’ be performed. This resets all ‘Set-up’ and<br />

‘Maintenance’ mode entries to their normal default values. ‘COLD START’ will show on the display for a second<br />

prior to a microprocessor initialising sequence, which takes about seven seconds.<br />

After a ‘COLD START’, it is necessary to set all new variables in ‘MAINTENANCE’ and ‘SET-UP’ modes,<br />

including calibration voltages and time and date.<br />

To perform a ‘COLD START’, apply power to the transmitter while at the same time holding down one of the nine<br />

internal keyboard buttons.<br />

A ‘WARM START’, which is performed by applying power without holding down an internal keyboard button,<br />

will retain all data previously entered in Maintenance and Set-up modes.<br />

3.18 REFERENCE AIR FLOW SWITCH<br />

If the oxygen probe is longer than 250 mm, ensure that reference air is flowing and that the reference air flow<br />

switch is closed by pressing the alarm button to ensure a ‘REF AIR FAIL’ alarm is not occurring.<br />

If the probe is 250 mm long ensure that there is a jumper between terminals 16 and 17.<br />

3.19 COMMISSIONING - MAINTENANCE MODE<br />

Switch the mode switch to ‘MAINT’. Enter the date and time. If the analyser has performed a ‘COLD START’,<br />

then the reference voltage calibration will have to be performed. If a ‘COLD START’ has been performed or a new<br />

probe installed, then the probe offset will need to be set. Refer to Section 6 for full details on calibration.<br />

3.20 COMMISSIONING - SET-UP MODE<br />

3.21 RUN MODE<br />

Switch the mode switch to ‘SET UP’ and enter all set up functions as listed in Section 5.<br />

Switch the mode switch to ‘RUN’. The upper line of the display will now read ‘% <strong>OXYGEN</strong>’ if the probe<br />

temperature is above 650 °C. The probe temperature can be checked on the lower line of the display. Refer to<br />

Section 3.6 for calibration of the D/A section of the analyser.<br />
