TREATWELL JOINS FORCES<br />
WITH THE PRINCE’S TRUST<br />
TREATWELL IS SUPPORTING young people setting up<br />
their own hair and beauty businesses by partnering with<br />
The Prince’s Trust Enterprise programme.<br />
The charity’s programme offers training, mentoring and<br />
funding support to 18 to 30 year olds, and the online beauty<br />
bookings service is helping to fund young people who want to<br />
start a beauty business to participate in Enterprise.<br />
Lopo Champalimaud, chief executive of Treatwell, said:<br />
“We are excited to be able to work with young people to help<br />
them realise their potential, and to help the hair and beauty<br />
industry discover the stars of tomorrow.”<br />
Lopo has also helped to raise funds for The Prince’s Trust by<br />
joining the ‘Team Enterprise’ trek to the South Pole. Through<br />
this expedition, Lopo hopes to bring Treatwell’s fundraising<br />
efforts to a total of more than £1 million for the charity.<br />
He joined a team of seven other business leaders (including<br />
Treatwell chairman, Klaus Nyengaard), on a trip that took them<br />
from Punta Arenas in Chile to the South Pole.<br />

THE BEST PART about<br />

according to a survey by<br />
Direct Line for Business.<br />
The research by the<br />
insurance company<br />
revealed that 40 per cent of<br />
respondents said making<br />
people happy was why they<br />
loved hairdressing, followed<br />
by meeting new people<br />
(26 per cent) and creating<br />
inspiring styles (17 per cent).<br />
The research comes at<br />
a time when it is becoming<br />
increasingly diffi cult to attract<br />
apprentices due to changes<br />
in funding, see page 24 for<br />
