When <strong>the</strong> wing<strong>back</strong>s have possession of <strong>the</strong><br />
ball, it is important that <strong>the</strong> closest midfielder<br />
gets away <strong>from</strong> his opponent and in<strong>to</strong> a<br />
safe space <strong>to</strong> receive <strong>the</strong> ball, in order <strong>to</strong> advance<br />
it or <strong>to</strong> switch it <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r part of<br />
<strong>the</strong> field. (Fig 18) In <strong>the</strong> same situation as<br />
above but with a challenging opponent, <strong>the</strong><br />
midfielder can still be effective through a<br />
quick combination with 11 <strong>to</strong> advance <strong>the</strong><br />
ball, a first <strong>to</strong>uch away <strong>from</strong> pressure for a lay<br />
off <strong>to</strong> 6, or a switch <strong>to</strong> 10. (Fig 19)<br />
