TAKE EXTRA CARE
OF YOUR WET HAIR
Don’t brush your hair when it’s wet. Wet
hair breaks easily, and brushing it can
cause split ends. To minimize damage, either
brush your hair before you shower, or
wait until after it has had time to dry before
combing it out.
Avoid rubbing or otherwise pulling at your
hair when you use a towel to dry it. This
can cause frizz and stretches your hair,
causing breakage. Instead of rubbing, pat
your hair dry and gently squeeze the moisture
out of your hair. Then wrap it in a towel,
if you wish. In addition, you shouldn’t
comb or brush your hair when wet unless
you are using a wide-toothed comb.
SKIP HEATED STYLING APPLIANCES
If you are trying to restore and
strengthen your hair, avoid using heated
styling appliances. These devices really
traumatize your hair a lot, making it harder
for you to keep it healthy. Now and then,
let your hair rest by avoiding heated tool.
You can keep causing repetitive damage to
your hair if you use a curling iron or blow
dryer constantly. So, before using any heated
appliance, be sure to apply some kind
of a styling product to help protect your
hair follicles. These products are designed
to protect your hair from the heat you are
about to apply.
USE SATIN PILLOWCASES
To help protect your curls while you
sleep, use a satin pillowcase. Cotton cases
can cause the hair to become dry and absorb
its natural oils. Satin pillowcases protect
your hair and allow you to wake with
beautiful curls. A satin scarf and a satin
bonnet are also good things to try.
