L’alizé souffle dans la partie orientale de la grande
île pendant presque toute l’année. La pluviométrie
y est donc importante, la température moyenne
est de 24°C. Il est possible de naviguer toute
l’année sur le canal mais le pic d’activité se situe
entre mai et novembre, au-delà de la saison
