DESTINATIONS Ranohira Les Rois Bara ont érigé la ville d’Ihosy sur la colline dénommée « Ihosy d’Antan ». The King Bara erected the city of Ihosy on the hill called "Ihosy of Antan". All photos © : ORT IHOROMBE Ihosy est un district de Madagascar, situé dans la partie Sud-Est de la province de Fianarantsoa, dans la région d’Ihorombe. Il est composé de dixsept communes rurales et urbaines. Ihosy est une étape incontournable pour se rendre dans le Sud de Madagascar. Situé à la croisée des chemins menant vers Taolagnaro (Fort-Dauphin) et Tuléar, Ihosy est surtout connu pour ses environs, notamment le très célèbre Parc national de l’Isalo. Ihosy d’antan est un site culturel. Comme son nom l’indique, c’était une ancienne ville bâtie par les rois de l’ethnie BARA (ethnie malgache du Sud). Avant de transférer le village, les Rois Bara ont érigé la ville d’Ihosy sur la colline dénommée « Ihosy d’Antan ». Cette population est nomade, composée de pasteurs et d’éleveurs. Peuple nomade, ils sont toujours à la recherche d’un vaste terrain pour leurs troupeaux de zébus, raison Ihosy is a district of Madagascar, located in the southeastern part of the province of Fianarantsoa, in the region of Ihorombe. It is composed of seventeen rural and urban communes. Ihosy is a key step in travelling to the South of Madagascar. Located at the crossroads leading to Taolagnaro (Fort Dauphin) and Tulear, Ihosy is best known for its surroundings, including the famous Isalo National Park. Ihosy of yesteryear is a cultural site. As the name suggests, it was an old town built by the kings of the BARA ethnic group (Malagasy ethnic group of the south). Before transferring the village, the King Bara erected the city of Ihosy on the hill called "Ihosy of Antan". This population is nomadic, composed of pastoralists and herders.. A part les restes des vestiges culturels, ce lieu est le signe de l’évangélisation des missionnaires norvégiens à Ihosy. Les missionnaires norvégiens ont construit un temple sur cette colline. Elle reste d’ailleurs un des sites les plus visités et admirés par les vacanciers qui viennent visiter la région.
