Reaching this 340-metre waterfall located in
the Chapada Diamantina region is an
adventure on its own. One can either choose
to walk for six kilometres from the ecological
base in the Vale do Capão or from below after
a three-day trek starting from Lençoís, a city
in Chapada. Tourist tip: Check local weather
information before planning your itinerary as
the place might be entirely dry depending
on season.

Although water falls from 18-metre height, it
forms a small pool where freshwater tortoises,
crabs and fishes have long called home.
Together with terrains rich in flora, viewing
terraces, playgrounds, car park and other
amenities made available for visitors, this falls
is the perfect place for a picnic!

This waterfall will make
you sweat as you cannot
drive to its location. But,
it is only a 15-minute walk
or hike from the town and
train station with plenty of
signs guiding you on your
journey! Take note that
some of these signs will
be in the local language.
However, we're sure the
reward at the end of this
walk will be worth the
effort as this 20-metre tall
and 40-metre wide falls is
a cascading waterfall with
water flowing in one
direction and rocks sloped
in the opposite direction.
VICTORIA FALLS
Livingstone, Zambia
If you would like to experience more than 500 million
cubic metres of water per minute plummeting over the
edge over a width of two kilometres, into a gorge of over
100 metres below, this is the falls you must have on your
itinerary while visiting this country! However, take note
that different times of the year will provide completely
different experiences and if you wish to experience the
full power of this falls, travel during the peak flood season
that takes place between March and April.
