Launched on March 1, Skillcraft Products is run by<br />
husband and wife team Dave and Lisa Gilbert and<br />
created after the success of sister company DG Fabs<br />
Ltd, which was started two years ago by Dave and his<br />
business partner Andrew Gunn.<br />
Dave says: “DG Fabs Ltd was set up as sub-contractor<br />
metalworkers for storage, heating and ventilation and<br />
various other industries. However I decided to start<br />
a product range after spending a great deal of time<br />
developing products for other companies, which is<br />
where Skillcraft Products came about.”<br />
The company draws on Dave’s 34 years’ experience in<br />
metal fabrication, design and development. Dave is a<br />
senior figure at the Institute of Sheet Metal Engineering<br />
and will be judging the national ISME Sheet Metal<br />
Technology competition In June. Lisa has many years’<br />
experience in sales and marketing but will happily work<br />
alongside the team on the assembly section. Married<br />
at 17, they have five children whom are all are involved<br />
in various aspects of these small friendly and growing<br />
family businesses.<br />
Dave adds: “We are an extremely customer friendly<br />
company and welcome any questions or queries. Our<br />
aim is to provide the very best quality items that should<br />
give you years of pleasure.<br />
“Every item on this site is made by our own craftsman<br />
in our own West Midlands-based factory; although fitted<br />
out with the latest CNC equipment - CNC equipment<br />
is simply computer controlled where all the products<br />
are identical with close tolerances for better quality and<br />
faster lead times as we make to order - we still have<br />
traditional manufacturing values and our small team<br />
have many years’ combined experience including CAD<br />
design and a wide variety or product knowledge.<br />
“Our high quality outdoor steel products are aimed<br />
straight towards the end user for an easy and friendly<br />
transaction direct with the factory; we do not sell to<br />
retailers. Everything is transparent and our customers<br />
are welcome to pop in and see what we do or even have<br />
a look at their item being made. Our phones are on<br />
from 8am till 8pm and are we are happy to advise with<br />
no pushy sales calls or hard sell.”<br />
