I lived in a r ef ugee cam p for ten year s, befor e com in g to th e Un ited States as a f if teen -year- old. I ?ve over com e a lot of tr aum a an d sexual abuse. I allowed all of th is to h old m e back f r om bein g auth en tic, f r om bein g who I am as a r eal per son , f r ee to en joy life an d to live f ully. D epression was m y go- to ch oice an d it ate m y soul out. I becam e obese an d th en just about four-year s- ago I said, ?T h at?s it, n o m or e!? an d th at?s when m y tr an sfor m ation star ted. T hese days, I am drawn to the power to change how I think and inspire others to do the same.

T h er e was em otion al an d physical abuse th at wen t on for twen ty year s of m y life in th is f am ily, m y f am ily. I don?t blam e m y par en ts, th ey both lear n ed it f r om th eir par en ts. I lear n ed it too. I tr eated th e f ath er of m y kids like cr ap. Befor e I star ted m y tr an sfor m ation , I didn?t h ave an iden tity. I took on th e iden tity of th e per son I was m ar r ied to. I didn?t exist. I didn?t even kn ow what I liked. Peace i s w h ol en ess. I t?s w h at w e ar e al l actu al ly seek i n g. I h ad to teach m yself to lear n what peace was. I tur n ed to books. I r ead, invested in cour ses an d pr acticed ever y th in g I lear n ed. I sh ar ed w ith oth er s as well. It becam e in gr ain ed in m e. I also lear n ed peace th r ough m editation .
