Pathway? Riders are talent spotted at a TSR
Clinic into one of 4 ability groups, they can
progress from the Novice group through
to the HOYS level which leads to the TSR
Showing Master Class currently held at
Horse of the Year Show.
What are you looking for when talent
spotting? Sarah says “We are looking at the
combination of rider & horse/pony, they
need to be showing potential as a rider and
the horse/pony the ability to work correctly”
“It has been fantastic to watch over the
past 4 years how many riders who have
been through the pathway have raised their
level of training & experience to achieve
their showing dreams such as qualifying for
Championships like Equifest, HOYS, RIHS or
Olympia. In fact, many riders have gone onto
qualify for HOYS.
Riders in the Pre Hoys groups can aim to
win prizes through the TSR Achievement
Awards. There are 6 great prizes for each
group such as 1 to 1 lessons, super glam
rosettes, HOYS tickets.
TSR Showing Master Class – Provides a
unique opportunity for 4 Amateur Riders
from the Training Pathway to experience the
magic of HOYS in a training environment.
TSR SHOWING FINALS
Your local showing Finals. Watch out for the
TSR qualification cards at your local show.
There are eight Showing Finals held across
the country so will be one in your region.
The Rider or Handler qualifies and can enter
ANY horse/pony at any of the finals.
WHY ARE THE FINALS
DIFFERENT?
Sarah says “As the rider or handler qualifies
it helps make it a great value day out.
They can bring ANY any horse/pony and
enter them in a suitable final. It allows
competitors to be able to enjoy all their
horses/ponies and come for more than
one class. Plus it provides a final within a
reasonable travelling distance. Often Finals
or Championships mean a long drive which
is not realistic for many exhibitors so TSR
thought we would bring a Final to each
region where possible.”
TSR MEMBERSHIP
£24 with over £40 of benefits! What makes
a TSR Membership different? Sarah said “At
TSR we want to give something back, most
societies state you have to be a member to
qualify for a Championship so that is why
people join however at TSR you can choose
to be a member it is not mandatory to take
part in anything we do. We find people
choose to become members to receive
the benefits such as sashes & medals plus
discounts on clinics, free entry at TSR Spring
or Summer Show, discounted entries and on
products such as Smart Grooming PLUS to
belong to an organisation that is there to
support them.
A TSR Membership also provides an
affordable option to compete in a HOYS
qualifier. This allows many riders to
compete at their local county show which
could be a qualifier or dip their toe into this
level of showing without having to pay out
big membership fees.”
WHAT IS YOUR MOST
POPULAR BENEFIT?
“That is easy, competitors just love the
TSR Sashes & Medals, it is great seeing the
smiles when someone receives a sash. At
the TSR Showing Finals every member in a
final receives a Sash. If you collect the TSR
qualification cards you can swap them for a
medal at the end of the season.
TSR SPRING & SUMMER
SHOWS
Friendly, fun & welcoming both are held at
Onley Equestrian Centre near Rugby Spring
7th May and Summer 14th & 15th July
2018. In Hand & Ridden Class for all types
with entry fees from £12. At the Summer
Shows we have the TSR Amateur £400 In
Hand & £200 Ridden Supremes where the
highest placed Amateur from each class
goes through. There are classes for all levels
from Walk & Trot through to Novice &
Open classes and lots of qualifiers.
