Fourth of July in Mullins Park
July 4, 6 to 9pm
Join Coral Springs annual Fourth of July celebration at Mullins
Park, 10000 Ben Geiger Drive. The event is free and includes
bounce houses, music, nominal fees for kid’s craft activities, food,
and refreshments. There is a $3 parking fee at the Coral Springs
Gymnasium, Mullins Park, and the Center for the Arts. Personal
fireworks, alcoholic beverages, and pets are not allowed in the
park. As an added safety measure, coolers, backpacks, and lawn
chairs carried in a bag are also prohibited. For more information, call

Parkland Bay Groundbreaking
WCI, a Lennar Company, broke ground
recently for its latest master-planned
luxury community surrounding a 178-
acre lake in Western Broward County –
Parkland Bay.
The event included a ceremonial
groundbreaking with silver shovels,
a virtual reality tour of the anticipated
community, and speeches from Parkland
Mayor Christine Hunschofsky, Broward
County Commissioner Michael Udine,
Lennar Palm Atlantic Division President
Jon Rapaport, and Theresa Brier, Deputy
District Director for Congressman Ted
Deutch, who shared remarks from the
Congressman. Parkland Bay will be
a luxury gated community comprised
of 552 single-family homes within five
distinct neighborhoods surrounding a
178-acre lake.
Resident named Teaching
Artist of the Year
The South Florida Chamber Ensemble
named Myrna Meeroff, of Parkland,
the 2017 ArtsEd Forever Teaching
Artist of the Year. Myrna is the resident
teaching artist and the creative genius
behind all of the South Florida Chamber
Ensemble’s educational programs
including the Literacy Using Music and
Art program. The SFCE is completing
its 2017 LUMA residency with 12
preschools across Broward County,
funded
in part
through a
grant from
the Florida
Division of
Cultural
Affairs.
Myrna is
one of
the 11 members of the Cultural Alliance
resident organizations at the Pompano
Beach Cultural Center. For more
