Fourth of July in Mullins Park<br />

July 4, 6 to 9pm<br />

Join Coral Springs annual Fourth of July celebration at Mullins<br />

Park, 10000 Ben Geiger Drive. The event is free and includes<br />

bounce houses, music, nominal fees for kid’s craft activities, food,<br />

and refreshments. There is a $3 parking fee at the Coral Springs<br />

Gymnasium, Mullins Park, and the Center for the Arts. Personal<br />

fireworks, alcoholic beverages, and pets are not allowed in the<br />

park. As an added safety measure, coolers, backpacks, and lawn<br />

chairs carried in a bag are also prohibited. For more information, call<br />

Parkland Bay Groundbreaking<br />

WCI, a Lennar Company, broke ground<br />

recently for its latest master-planned<br />

luxury community surrounding a 178-<br />

acre lake in Western Broward County –<br />

Parkland Bay.<br />

The event included a ceremonial<br />

groundbreaking with silver shovels,<br />

a virtual reality tour of the anticipated<br />

community, and speeches from Parkland<br />

Mayor Christine Hunschofsky, Broward<br />

County Commissioner Michael Udine,<br />

Lennar Palm Atlantic Division President<br />

Jon Rapaport, and Theresa Brier, Deputy<br />

District Director for Congressman Ted<br />

Deutch, who shared remarks from the<br />

Congressman. Parkland Bay will be<br />

a luxury gated community comprised<br />

of 552 single-family homes within five<br />

distinct neighborhoods surrounding a<br />

178-acre lake.<br />

Resident named Teaching<br />

Artist of the Year<br />

The South Florida Chamber Ensemble<br />

named Myrna Meeroff, of Parkland,<br />

the <strong>2017</strong> ArtsEd Forever Teaching<br />

Artist of the Year. Myrna is the resident<br />

teaching artist and the creative genius<br />

behind all of the South Florida Chamber<br />

Ensemble’s educational programs<br />

including the Literacy Using Music and<br />

Art program. The SFCE is completing<br />

its <strong>2017</strong> LUMA residency with 12<br />

preschools across Broward County,<br />

grant from<br />

the Florida<br />

Division of<br />

Cultural<br />

Affairs.<br />

Myrna is<br />

one of<br />

the 11 members of the Cultural Alliance<br />
