Residents in South Florida have a fresh take on this holiday and are hoping to
turn their doughnut fantasies into realities. Here are some recently imagined by
local doughnut connoisseurs.
“After trying the chocolate pretzel doughnut, I would create something like it.
Instead of putting a topping on it, I would create a plain chocolate doughnut with
chocolate pudding inside as an added burst of flavor when you bite into it.”
- DJ Wiedmer
“I would make a doughnut that represents all the different Walt Disney World
parks with all of the flavors being vanilla. The parks that would be represented
are Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. For Magic
Kingdom, I would add blue sparkles and pin a picture of Cinderella’s Castle.
The Epcot doughnut would have the design of the Epcot ball. As for Hollywood
Studios, it would be a “Great Movie” doughnut with popcorn on top of it. Finally,
for Animal Kingdom there would be green icing and it would be topped with
bananas.”- Sabrina Turnier
“If I had to create a doughnut it would be a “Funfetti” doughnut with sprinkles on top
and vanilla frosting. It would also have sprinkles and
chocolate frosting inside. People would taste the
flavors of both chocolate and vanilla while eating this
doughnut.”- Yael Weiss
“A “half and half” doughnut would be perfect
because I can never decide on one flavor, so the
half and half option would provide two flavors in one
doughnut. I would like to see a half cinnamon/half
powdered or half chocolate/half glazed.”- Shari Silver
“I would make a chocolate doughnut filled with
strawberry jelly because that is a combination of my
favorite flavors in one doughnut.”- Sandy Silver
“I would make a cannoli filled doughnut
because it would add an authentic
Italian flair to the menu.”
